Inspire. Reflect. Write.
A gentle place to begin your life story, one small scene at a time.
I help beginning writers, mostly women over 40, shape the memories that matter into short, meaningful scenes. If you're wondering what to leave in and what to leave out of your memoir, you're in the right place.
A good memoir doesn’t need to include everything that happened. Leave in the moments that reveal change, character, relationships, and the emotional truth of your experience. Include scenes that show what was at stake, how you were affected, and why those experiences still matter now. Keep the details that create vivid, specific, memorable scenes. Leave out repeated stories, timelines that feel like lists, backstory that slows the reader down, and details that don’t deepen meaning. The goal isn’t completeness—it’s clarity, movement, and connection.
