I’m so glad you’re here. This is a warm, nurturing space for writers who want to explore memoir with honesty, gentleness, and care.
Welcome to the Garden.
Memoir Studio Garden is a place to slow down, listen inward, and make room for the stories that are asking to be written. Whether you are just beginning or returning to your writing after time away, you are welcome here exactly as you are.
The Memoir Studio is built on the belief that vulnerable writing needs a safe container. This is not a competitive space, and it is not a place where there is one right way to write your life. Instead, we create room for reflection, experimentation, tenderness, and truth. You do not need to perform, impress, or rush. You only need to arrive with openness and a willingness to listen to your own voice.
We value presence over polish, curiosity over certainty, and encouragement over critique. Here, we support one another in writing bravely and sharing thoughtfully, while honouring that every person’s story and process is their own.
with gratitude,
Michael Williams, Ph.D.

Community Standards
Listen with curiosity. Every story carries a world inside it. Read and respond with openness rather than assumptions.
Offer kindness over critique. This is a space for support, reflection, and encouragement. Unless critique is specifically invited, let your response be gentle and affirming.
Honor each writer’s voice. We are not here to prescribe, correct, or compare. Trust that each person is finding their own way on the page.
Protect the tenderness of the space. Share with care, respond with respect, and remember that vulnerable writing deserves compassion and confidentiality.
What to do next
When you’re ready, head to the Studio Table and introduce yourself. You might share your name, where you’re joining from, what brings you to memoir, or what you hope to discover here. There’s no pressure to say a lot—just enough for us to welcome you in.
